Beamline: X1 (RÖMO II)

X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy, In-situ Experiments, High-Energy Applications

Roemo II at X1

Beam line X1 offers a very stable photon beam over a large X-ray energy range of 6 - 80 keV and comparably high energy resolution. It is optimized especially for X-Ray Absorption Fine-Structure Spectroscopy (XAFS). A continuous energy scanning mode allows flexible adjustment of the experimental time-resolution during fast measurements (second to minute range). The conventional step-by-step scanning mode yields highest signal-to-noise ratios for slower scans (minute range). A chemistry lab only 10m from the experiment, a large variety of gas lines and the installation of related security components provide optimized conditions for in-situ experiments and chemical applications.
