1. What to do before the Beamtime?
4 weeks before your scheduled beamtime please log in DOOR and
- Register all experimenters
- Fill in the "Declaration of Substances and Apparatus"
- Fill in the "Request for the Use of the Chemistry Laboratory"
- Apply for travel reimbursement (only for German Groups from Universities and for groups from EU countries)

Project leaders should contact the experiment responsible at HASYLAB well in advance.
Please ask your home institutions in case that you need an official document stating that you carry samples personally for experiments to and from DESY. There are special safety regulations for flights.
In addition please check your medical insurance and liability insurance coverage before your stay at HASYLAB /DESY, especially if you come from a non-European country ( the DESY guest services - international office provides further information).
If you need a visa for Germany, please keep in mind that you must apply for a visa at least one month before your expected departure for Hamburg.
