4. Computer Based Safety Training and Access Cards (DACHS card)
It is required to register all persons participating in the experiment at the beamline via DOOR "Registration of participants" 4 weeks before the scheduled beamtime. This includes registration for the safety training.
Each user has to participate in a
Computer Based Safety Training
(CBT)
Only persons who have made themselves aware of the regulations for safety and radiation protection are permitted to work at HASYLAB. Please log in our DOOR system with your DOOR user ID and password. The interactive training (German or English) takes about 25 minutes; three computers are available in the CBT room in bldg. 25, first floor, room 100, available from Monday to Sunday, 24 hours. After having printed out your Safety Pass put it into the letter box of that room. It is also possible to complete the HASYLAB computer based safety training online via DOOR from your home before your arrival at Hasylab. The formular can be faxed to +49 (0)40 8994-4141.
Access Cards for Special Areas
(DACHS Card)
PETRA III experimental areas as well as laboratories, mechanical workshops and the accelerators are secured by the access control system DACHS (DESY ACcess Control Handling System) against trespassing. A valid access card (DACHS Card) is needed to work in these areas with restricted access or to activate the interlock, respectively. No access card is needed for experiments in the DORIS III and FLASH experimental halls.
Only after entering the appropriate entrance requirements and safety instructions (CBT and on site instructions) you will get an access card. Having completed the CBT you will get a printout of a certificate with barcode 'Safety Pass'. Please sign it and forward this safety certificate to the Users' Office by putting it into the letter box (in the instruction room) or handing it in personally. The completion of your instructions will be validated in the DOOR database by the HASYLAB Users' Office.
You may check the start of the validity period of your safety instructions in DOOR. The validity period is six months.
Access cards (DACHS Cards) for users will be printed by the gatekeepers at the main entrance (Notkestr. 85) and in R. 110, Building 6 (close to the canteen, during office hours 9-11:30, 13:00-16:00) .
As an exception the access cards can be obtained in the Users' office.
The permission to work in certain laboratories or to search an area must be granted by the persons in charge of a laboratory or by the beamline responsible. Afterwards you can use your access card.
